Junior Conductor Program
Sponsored by "motorman" Janet Moll, the M-Line is starting up a unique new Junior Conductor Program. It is aimed at today's 'tweens and teens to give them the opportunity to spend their near future exploring yesteryear. It lets kids age 12 and over learn the ropes of operating a trolley and then it puts them right on board, where they assist the motorman while the trolley is in service.
The Junior Conductors will play a role not only during regular service, but on charter trips, as well. Their duties include operating the radio, lifting and lowering the poles everything but driving the trolley car. In addition, one of their primary duties is to chat with riders while the motorman operates the trolley. Each Junior Conductor who logs at least 20 hours in a year's time will receive a two-hour trolley charter free of charge.
This summer, the year-round program will be getting under way in earnest. Parents interested in getting their kids on board with the Junior Conductors program should contact the M-Line offices at 214.855.0006.
